The turnover at Fisker’s service department is growing steadily, the number of employees has increased and the organisational structure has become streamlined.
Over the past year, Fisker has focused on optimising and streamlining its service department. The customers are feeling the positive effects of the changes, and the department’s turnover has increased by 20%.
Skills upgrades
One of the new initiatives in the department is to increase its range of competencies, while ensuring that the technicians have the necessary skills to cover each other. “We take great care to ensure that several technicians possess the same skills, so that we are not left vulnerable if an employee is fully booked or on sick leave when the skill is needed,” says Service Manager Henrik Skjærlund. “Several of our technicians have therefore attended courses, and we have started holding internal courses where experienced technicians pass their knowledge on to others. This has produced excellent results and made it easier for us to plan day-to-day work for the benefit of our customers.”
Optimisation of old equipment
The department has also increased its focus on the renovation and optimisation of old plant and equipment. “We increasingly experience that existing equipment is moved around, for example when companies merge,” says Henrik Skjærlund. “We are therefore very pleased to have employed Jesper Hedegaard, who worked for Fisker for over 10 years in the past. Jesper has considerable know-how about our older equipment, which he uses when working on renovation jobs and passes on to colleagues in the department.”
Continued progress
Henrik Skjærlund expects the positive development to continue in the coming year. “We will continue the excellent work in the department, where we constantly fine-tune our processes and upgrade our skills, which includes holding courses together with the customers’ technicians. The demand for the department’s services continues to grow, and an increasing number of customers conclude service agreements with us. We are prepared to honour this demand with a high degree of flexibility and considerable focus on the customer’s needs.”
