Fisker previously supplied a complete packing line to Kemira and has now expanded the production by adding another robot palletising solution.
Kemira is a Finnish chemicals company which produces products such as fertiliser. The company’s head office is located in Helsinki, and the group’s annual turnover exceeds €2 billion. Fisker has just supplied another solution to the company’s Swedish affiliate.
More efficient logistics
Back in 2015, Fisker supplied and installed a complete packing line at Kemira for the packing of fertiliser. To make the logistics of handling so many tonnes of bags more efficient, Fisker has now installed another robot palletising solution, which increases the capacity considerably and removes bottlenecks in the customer’s production.
Corrosive environment creates additional challenges
The new solution must operate in a corrosive environment, which creates unusually tough requirements, as the equipment can otherwise quickly rust. “For example, all main components must be made of stainless steel and the robot must be wrapped in a protective coat,” says Sales Director Peter M Henningsen from Fisker.
Vast know-how – also within logistics
In recent years, Fisker has experienced a growing interest in integrated robot solutions which improve user friendliness and productivity. “The customers appreciate our vast know-how about the logistical flow in the construction of efficient packing lines,” says Peter M Henningsen. “We also applied this knowledge at Kemira to achieve a more effective solution, so that the customer today benefits from much more efficient logistics around the packing line.”
