The trawler MFV Scombrus is most often at sea, where it fishes for mackerel. The trawler is equipped with RSW tanks to keep the catch at -1°C before it is sorted and frozen into 25 kilo blocks. Two F1200Syncro bagging machines are used for packing the fresh catch during the voyage.
The two bagging machines are serviced by Fisker twice a year. At the end of February, our service technician Casper Dahl Egelund was on assignment on board the trawler for the first time.
“When the trawler docks, it’s typically for a duration of 7-10 days. In this context, the ship’s catch of mackerel is delivered, and at the same time, we get the opportunity to service the packaging system on board,” Casper explains. “This time, the ship called at the Dutch port city of Scheveningen. Other times, we have serviced the machines on the ship in the Dutch port city of Ljmuiden.”
