Fisker Skanderborg has excellent experience of refurbishing customers’ old packaging lines and increasing the life of the plants. A renovated plant that has been brought up-to-date provides not only improved operational safety but also increased uptime and daily savings.
“Lately, we have refurbished a ten-year-old packaging line for bags,” says Service Manager Rasmus Sørensen from Fisker. “There has been considerable development in the area over the ten years since the plant began operating at our customer’s premises. After the refurbishment, the plant is now fit to operate for at least another ten years. The packaging line is also faster, safer and cheaper.”
New welding system and pre-stretch head
During the refurbishment of the packaging line, Fisker installed a new welding system, among other things. With the new system, the packaging line can now weld different types of plastic, including difficult plastic materials.
Fisker has also installed a newly developed pre-stretching head for a stretch film wrapper that maximises the use of the stretch film wrapped around the pallets. Previously, the stretch film wrapper could only use one type of film at the higher end of the price range. Today, the machine can use many different and cheaper types of stretch film.

As the S5 has been discontinued, it would be almost impossible to repair defective S5 controllers.

A good investment
Fisker’s broad knowledge and experience with the plants we have supplied over the last many years provides a good foundation for carrying out refurbishments when the plants are in need of upgrades. “Today, a growing number of customers choose to renovate old plants,” says Rasmus Sørensen. “The investment in the refurbishment is a sensible decision in view of the increased operational safety, increased speed and daily savings which the refurbished plant offers the customer.”
